Longford manager Glenn Ryan celebrates with Brian Kavanagh after the NFL Div 3 final.
Glenn Ryan has warned his Longford players that they need to be at their best on Sunday.

Longford host Laois in the first round of the Leinster SFC at Pearse Park and they are on a roll after a superb league campaign. They've put in a lot of work but that will count for nothing unless they produce the goods this weekend, the manager says in The Longford Leader.

Should victory materialise, it would be no more than the players deserve:

"It would be brilliant for the lads. That's the most important thing. The fellas have worked so hard over the last number of months and years.

"It would be a reward for their committed efforts.

"It doesn't work out like that, though ... [that] just because you put in the work you ultimately get rewarded. You have to go and perform and that's what we have to do.

"The lads deserve a big support after putting in such a huge effort. I have no doubt that the people of Longford will come out and make it a real good championship atmosphere, one that the fellas enjoy.

"You would hope that a large vociferous home crowd getting behind the Longford team will make an impact."
