Kilkenny 3-22
Limerick 1-12

Kilkenny produced the second-half goods to down Limerick this afternoon in Thurles and move towards an All-Ireland minor hurling championship semi-final date with Tipperary.

Jack Morrissey (2) and Killian Hogan netted the goals for the Cats as they began to pull away from their Treaty counterparts in the run up to half-time.

Limerick led by 0-8 to 0-7 with 24 minutes on the clock before the winners devastated them with 1-4, including Morrissey's well-taken goal from a tight angle which helped his team lead by 1-11 to 0-8 at the half.

If that wasn't bad enough from a Limerick prospective, their Leinster opponents sent over the first five points of the restart to move into what proved an unassailable lead in this round three quarter-final.

Morrissey's second major made it 2-18 to 0-9 headed into the final quarter of an hour and it was well and truly curtains for the Cats once Hogan hammered home to their net with seven minutes to go, making Bryan Nix's late strike at the other end mere consolation for the Shannonsiders.

Kilkenny now face Tipp on Sunday week at Croke Park (throw-in 1.30pm) for an All-Ireland final berth.
