St. Patrick's GAA Club Notes

Our junior B footballers has reached the City league semi final following their 2-18 to 0-02 victory over a poor Patrickswell side we were leading by 2-06 to 0-01 at the half time break but ran out easy winners when we hit the Well side for twelve points in the second half. We lined out as follows Pat O Shea, Garrett O Hanlon, David Geary, Darragh Cronin, Greg McNamara, Robert Guerin, Gary Campbell, Desie McDaid, Francis Kett, Craig McMarlow, Niall McNamara, David Considine, Brendan Mullins, Shane Kerin and Daragh Clancy. Sub used were Brian O Neill, Stephen Clancy, Christy Meehan and Tony Quigley. Our scorers were Darragh Clancy 2-01, Shane Kerin 0-07 David Considine and Francis Kett with 0-03and Greg McNamara, Craig McMarlow, Brendan Mullins and Christy Meehan with 0-01each. We now meet Ballinacurra Gaels on this Thursday evening in Cahirdavin with the throw in at 7.30pm. Our junior hurlers received a walkover from Old Christians last Saturday evening in the City junior A hurling league we now have the final league game against Crecora last Tuesday evening with the City semi finals to be played on this Saturday evening. Our senior footballers will travel to Foynes on this Tuesday evening to take on St. Senan's in the All County league, in this league we have played four games winning two against Adare and Monaleen and losing two to St. Kieran's and Fr.Casey's throw in for is at 7.30pm. The under 14 Gaelic football team took on Bruff in a friendly on Sunday 13th in Rhebogue with 24 players turning up on the night, the management team gave all players game time. At the final whistle the Saints proved too strong for the visitors and ran out comfortable winners. Many thanks to Bruff team for travelling in for the match.



The Saints under 14 team received a walkover from Ahane in their first round of the county football championship match last Sunday training continues for this Gaelic football team on Tuesday evenings at 6.30p.m in Rhebogue. Our under 14 hurling team begin their county championship on this Wednesday evening with a home match against Ballybrown then on this Saturday the squad will travel out to Ballina to play them in a challenge match and then travel on to Nenagh to watch the Limerick Intermediate hurling squad take on Tipperary. The under 12 Gaelic football team had an away match to Ballybricken Bohermore on Thursday. With a few players missing 12 of the Saints made the trip out. We started brightly and matched the home side in the first half. After the break we lost our shape a little and allowed the home team to push ahead and score some soft goals. At the final whistle it was the home side that were the winners. Training for the under 12's will continue on Saturday at 3.30pm. The under 10 hurling panel hosted a blitz in Rhebogue on last Friday night. With 23 players on hand we put out two teams and were competitive in all games against visitors, St Mary's of Rathkeale, Patrickswell, Ballincurra Gaels and Crecora. Many thank to all clubs for making the trip in. It was great to see so many young players playing hurling at such a high skill level. Training will continue this Friday evening at 6.30p.m in Rhebogue, The under 6 and under 8 squads continued their hurling training on Friday evenings with large numbers continue to train. On this Friday the 25th we are hosting an under 8 hurling blitz starting at 6.30pm in Rhebogue. Finally we would all like to wish Wayne Cronin and the Limerick intermediate hurling team the very best on this Saturday when they will take on Tipperary in the Munster hurling championship and also the very best to the Limerick senior hurling team who will take on Tipperary on this Sunday in the Munster Senior hurling championship.
