Limerick hurling manager John Allen
John Allen insists that playing in Division 1B leaves Limerick at a distinct disadvantage.
The Treaty County open their Munster SHC programme against Tipperary in Thurles on Sunday and manager Allen is not impressed with the relatively inferior preparation his team has had during the Spring:
"It is a huge disadvantage," he states in The Irish Daily Mirror. "The league as it is is going to marginalise certain counties.
"It's going to do nothing to develop hurling for the counties that are in 1B. It's very hard to gauge where we are at.
"We did beat Dublin in a challenge game but they were understrength, as we were ourselves against Galway, who beat us.
"Until we see on Sunday, we won't know where we are at."
