Limerick manager Maurice Horan believes the more players playing colleges football the better.

Horan feels that the fact so many of his squad are lining out with their colleges is benefiting Limerick football, despite the fact it is leaving him with small numbers to work with.

"I think it is a good idea - I think Limerick guys need to be playing college football Sigerson and Trench Cup - that is beneficial overall in the bigger picture," Horan told the Limerick Leader.

"In terms of college players we would like to have them - we were missing Seamus O'Carroll, Eoghan O'Connor and the likes of Tom McCarthy, Ian Corbett, Tommie Griffin and Donal O'Sullivan."
