Galvin commits to Treaty

Limerick's John Galvin
John Galvin has confirmed that he'll play for the Limerick senior footballers for at least one more year.

There were fears that the Croom clubman might call time on his intercounty career in the wake of Mickey Ned O'Sullivan's resignation as county boss, but the 30-year-old has no intention of walking away:

"I'll be back, there's no doubt about it," the brilliant midfielder says.

"I'll be there again next year. I'm not waiting to see who the next manager is or anything like that. I'll be there no matter what.

"To be honest, I was never expecting Mickey Ned to go. I was shocked really. I really thought he would come back and give it another year.

"That's what everybody thought but obviously Mickey Ned believes we need something new and that it was time for someone else to come in and have a go at it. He could be right.

"I'm disappointed that he is going but, in saying that, there's a big opportunity there now for someone to come in and do something with the team."
