Patrickswell GAA Notes
August 23, 2010
The Junior A hurlers bowed out of the City Championship despite a plucky 2-7 to 1-10 draw against Old Christians. The result scuppered both teams' ambition to reach the semi-final. Patrickswell finished the group stage with five points, while six points was required to make the City semi-final. Hard luck to the players and management.
The Junior B hurlers are having a great season in their City Championship, thanks to a combination of strong performances on the pitch and opponent walkovers. This week, the lads beat Monaleen convincingly by 3-18 to 1-9. Abbey Sarsfields conceded their game and the 'Well are now certain of a semi-final berth in the City.
The Under 16 hurlers qualified for the Championship quarter-finals after beating Mungret with a solid team performance. The group stage is now complete and the boys have continued their rich vein of form. The Club Lotto is still up for grabs! Please buy a ticket from your local agent or participating shop. The Lucky Dip prizes are €600. Many thanks to Gerry Ryan for installing the new toilet facilities at the clubhouse.
