Following last weekend notes the Patsy Nicholas Bar Gerald Griffin St. City Junior A hurling championship is now hotting up with a mixed of results for some clubs the places for third and fourth qualifying places are up for grabs and this weekend games will tell a lot for the clubs that fighting for places. Crecora, Old Christians and Patrickswell will be all fighting for the final fourth spot when all three clubs are inaction this weekend. Table leaders St. Patricks played two games last weekend when on Thursday evening last they recorded a 1-16 to 1-05 victory over Patrickswell at Clarina then two days later the Rhebogue side lost their first championship game when they went down by two points to Old Christians 1-16 to 1-14 at Cahirdavin. Second place Ballybrown took on neighbours Patrickswell on Sunday evening and the Clarina team continue their hunt for honours when they had a three point victory 2-15 to 3-09. The meeting of Old Christians and Patrickswell on this Saturday evening will be an interesting affair when both teams will need nothing less than a victory, this game will take place at Rhebogue with a 7.15pm throw in. In the other importing game over the weekend will be the meeting of Crecora and Na Piarsaigh a victory here for the Cahirdavin side will have them in the semi finals but if the Crecora team take the two points it would put them back into the hunt of the fourth spot, this game will take place on Sunday with the showdown at noon in St. Patricks pitch at Rhebogue.
