Patrickswell GAA Notes

August 16, 2010
The Junior A hurlers had a busy week in the City Championship, but were unable to record a crucial victory. Their first match was against table-toppers St. Patricks. The favourites ran out comfortable 1-16 to 1-5 winners. In their second match, the 'Well lost to parish neighbours Ballybrown by 2-15 to 3-9. The top four teams in the group qualify for a City semi-final. Patrickswell need a win against Old Christians in their last match for a fighting chance of reaching these semi-finals.

The Junior B hurlers cruised to a 2-13 to 1-10 victory over Mungret in their City Championship encounter. It was their first competitive game after receiving walkovers from Crecora and Claughaun. The Under 16 hurlers continued their excellent form with a crushing 4-17 to 0-6 triumph over Deel Rangers. The boys have been scoring freely in recent weeks and hold second place in the table. Their last pool game is against Mungret. The Intermediate camogie ladies bowed out of their championship after a narrow 2-8 to 2-6 defeat by Croagh-Kilfinny. Hard luck ladies!

The Club Lotto remains intact at €20,000. Tickets are available from local agents and participating shops. Best of luck to the Leaving Certificate students as they await their results and third-level offers.
