Reidy ready for new role

Drom Broadford's Michael Reidy
Micheál Reidy says he is ready to apply himself in a different role for Limerick tonight as he tries to help guide them to victory along the sidelines in their Munster U21FC opener against Clare tonight.

Reidy, who was one of Limerick's leading forwards in the past decade, is now set to pit his wits as a selector with manager Maurice Horan, as the pair look to bring through the next generation of the Treaty County's footballing talents.

"It's been very enjoyable," said Reidy. "We've a good bunch of lads and while the weather did affect our preparations earlier in the year, we recovered well from there.

"We lost out last year to Clare in the first round and that shows our lads what's required. Home advantage is a help to us and we've a few senior players as well. But I'd be mindful that we can't rely on a big name like Ian Ryan to win."

Due to a frozen pitch, the decision was today taken to move tonight's game from the Gaelic Grounds to Cooraclare, with a 7.30pm throw in.
