Fitzgerald says Fitzgibbon should get proper backing

Limerick IT boss Davy Fitzgerald has urged the GAA to row in behind the Fitzgibbon Cup in a more concerted fashion.
Ahead of this weekend's semi-finals in which his side face NUI Galway, Fitzgerald reckons the university fare is underrated.
"I reckon it is one of the most undervalued competitions in the GAA," Fitzgerald told the Irish Star.
"You have Under 21 and senior stars. The intensity in it is unreal.
"I'd love it if the GAA got more involved in it and gave it more backing.
"I see them pumping money into different competitions. This is a massive competition. I don't care what anyone says.
"This is better than county under 21 in my opinion and I have trained county Under 21 teams. The standard is higher.
"The crowds are phenomenal and it's free."
