IFC: Goals make the difference for Dromahair
August 27, 2010
St Patrick's Dromahair 2-10
Glenfarne/Kiltyclogher 0-8
Goals in either half helped St Patrick's Dromahair book their place into the semi-finals of the intermediate football championship at the expense of Glenfarne/Kiltyclogher last Sunday at Carrick-on-Shannnon.
Despite leading for large portions, only a 52nd minute goal from Christy McGowan settled the issue here for Dromahair, who are sure to provide tough opposition in the last four of this competition.
The winners led by 1-4 to 0-2 at the break, with Conor Kelly firing in the goal midway through the half, but were blitzed by their opponents after the restart as Diarmuid and Fergal Clancy popped over the points to trim the deficit to the minimum.
Substitute Shane Fowley grabbed a vital point soon afterwards which helped to turn the tide in the Saints Favour and when McGowan blasted in with eight minutes to go their was simply no coming back for Glenfarne/Kiltyclogher.
