Drumkeerin GAA club notes

July 27, 2010
Seniors win
The first round of the Intermediate Football Championship yielded a
good result for our senior team. The lads ran out convincing winners
against a second string Annaduff team on a scoreline of 2-14 to 0-5 at
a beautiful Allen Gaels field on Sunday afternoon.
To start our campaign with a win was fantastic and all but secures
our place in the quarter-final. However the team are aware that
tougher challenges lie ahead and have returned to training ahead of
their next match against Aughawillan the weekend after next. Well done
to all involved.

Junior Championship
The excitement continues. Our Junior team get their campaign up and
running on Sunday evening against Allen Gaels at 6pm in Pairc Sean.
This team will have a great blend of youth and experience and
hopefully they can put a performance together that will result in a
win. Please support.

Ladies win
Well done to the Ladies who have bounced back from two defeats to
defeat Cloone on Sunday afternoon. The girls are training very hard
and will place Aughawillan on Sunday week in the next round of the
league. Best of luck and of course please support.

Minors in action
After a great win against Carrigallen the minor team take on near
neighbours Dromahaire in the next round of the championship. The game
takes place this Wednesday (28th of July) in Dromahaire. The team
deserve our support so best of luck guys.

Under 14s
This Friday the Under 14 team make the long trip to Bornacoola for the
next round of the 11-a-side football championship. Best of luck to the
team and management.

Race night
A great night is anticipated this Saturday night with the hosting of
the annual Drumkeerin GAA Race Night in Davitt's Bar. As in previous
years we are hoping that the entire community can support the night
and come along an enjoy what is always a great event. Those people
that wish to sponsor a race @ €50 can contact any member of the
executive. In addition cards are going around to buy a horse and if
you can make a contribution in this regard it would be appreciated.
Hopefully we will see you all there.

Family fun day
If that was not enough on Sunday the 1st of August the annual family
fun day will take place. Last year we had a great response of all the
children (and adults for that matter) for all the races and events
that took place so hopefully the same can be said for 2010. Events
kick off at 2 pm and as usual there will be something for everyone.
Check local shops for details of events.

Sympathy
Drumkeerin GFC would like to express their sympathy to the Gallagher
family, Corderry, Killargue, on the death of Kathleen. The Gallagher
family are heavily involved in the club and our thoughts are with you
at this time.
