Drumkeerin GAA

March 16, 2010
Senior

Our Seniors went down away to Bornacoola on Saturday evening on a
scoreline of 1-10 to 0-06. Despite the scoreline it was a good
performance by the team who were short a few members of the panel.
Our next match is at home to Aughnasheelin in 2 weeks time. Watch
this space for fixtures.

Minors

Well done to the minor team and management who had a great result away
to Melvin Gaels on Saturday morning in the MFL. It was an early start
for the boys with an 11.30am throw-in but that didn't stop them
powering to a well deserved 1-13 to 1-5 victory. The lads now play
Allen Gaels in their final group game and are still in a shot of
making it through.

Best wishes

Best wishes to players Jason Byrne and Aaron Wynne who sustained
serious injuries in the last week. Jason badly damaged his shoulder
against Mayo in the Under 21 championship while Aaron suffered a nasty
knee injury at training. Both men are set to be on the sidelines for a
number of months but hopefully it won't be too long until we see them
back on the field of play.

Lotto

Lotto took place at the weekend. There was no winner of the jackpot.
Ä20 winners were David McDonnell, Limerick; Sean Lynch, Leitrim
Village; Tommy Forde, Corralustia; John McTernan Snr, Greaghnaglogh;
Rita McTernan, Greaghnaglogh. Lotto returns in two weeks. Thanks to
Seamus Duignan and the lads for co-ordinating the draw and of course
to everyone for their continued support.

Yearly Lotto

Yearly lotto ticket sellers are now visiting the area to sign up
people for the 2010 subscription of Drumkeerin GAA Yearly Lotto. The
generosity people showed last year was greatly appreciated by the club
and we are hoping that will continue this year. Tickets are Ä50 and in
addition to being entered into every draw of the year, holders will
also be entered into a confined monthly draw in which they could win
Ä100. If that was not enough they will receive a 2010 Drumkeerin GAA
supporter car sticker.

Beard Shave for Haiti

Just a note that a great event is happening for a very worthy cause
this Saturday night. Daniel and Ryan McSharry have organised a beard
shaving fundraiser to help with the relief effort for Haiti which was
devastated by a recent earthquake. It kicks off at 9.30pm on Saturday
night in Fordes Inn and everybody - beard in tow or not - to attend.
