Moran in the dark over McCloskey's future

Leitrim manager Mickey Moran isn't sure if Gary McCloskey will be available to play for the county this year. The highly-rated midfielder is living and working in London, but travelled over and back for games last year. McCloskey has been joined in the English capital by fellow Leitrim players Shane Canning and Noel Doonan in recent times, but there is a huge question mark over whether they will play for the county this year as the county board will not be paying for flights due to the recession. This has only increased speculation that McCloskey, who is currently preparing for Tir Chonaill Gaels' All-Ireland club quarter-final against Kilmurry-Ibrickane on Sunday week, will throw in his lot with London in the coming season. But Moran is hopeful that the player, who is building a house in Leitrim, will still feature for the Ridge County this year. "Because of the weather, we haven't had the chance to meet up yet, so there has been no discussion about the situation," the Derry native said.
