Logan rues absentees

July 03, 2009
Leitrim minor boss Sean Logan believes that the lack of players available to him has been a major part of his team's downfall this season. Leitrim suffered a devastating 17-point defeat at the hands of Roscommon last Saturday in the Connacht championship and their manager thinks that they can ill-afford to be without the best players in the county. "We had one or two that stood out but we could have had more. Unfortunately, they didn't," said Logan. "There are a couple of lads in the county that would have made a big difference if we had them on the panel but they're not there because of the Leaving Cert and other reasons. We're too small a county to be without players, we need everybody." After the crushing loss at Hyde Park, where Leitrim only mustered three points in all, Logan was stuck for words. "It's very hard to put into words because I honestly came up here with good optimism that we could get something out of it," he lamented.
