Aughnasheelin go down
November 14, 2008
Intermediate football champions Aughnasheelin have lost their Division One status to complete a topsy-turvy year.
Liam Higgins' side were the toast of the county after landing the IFC and again after beating Sligo champions St Molaise Gaels in the Connacht intermediate club championship.
But their year ended on a downer when they lost by four points to Melvin Gaels last weekend, a result which leaves them in a hapless position at the foot of the Division One table.
The Kinlough men, on the other hand, booked their place in the final with the win. The relegation battles in both Divisions One and Two will continue this weekend.
