Browne takes over Leitrim Ladies
November 07, 2008
Leitrim have appointed ex-Mayo boss Frank Browne as the county's new ladies senior football manager.
The appointment was made at a specially convened County Committee meeting early this week and sees a search for a new Ladies boss in the county stretching back to last February come to an end.
Ladies Board chairman Ray O'Connor cites Browne's appointment as a great chance to build on the recent past success the Ridge County has achieved in the ladies football front.
"Frank's arrival gives us a great opportunity to build on our recent success, our promotion to senior in 2006 and our All-Ireland intermediate win in 2007," said Browne.
Browne himself currently manages at the Belmullet club and has played with Mayo's senior hurlers and coached the Roscommon senior hurling team in the past.
