GLENCAR/MANORHAMILTON CLUB NOTES
COUNTY CHAMPIONS
I am very proud as club secretary to be sending in the club notes this week. Apologies they were not in last week but I simply had no time! A big well done to each and everyone involved that made last weekend possible, but especially to the team and Management who put in so much hard work and effort since February last. A County Title was always on the agenda and in February it seemed a long way off, but thanks to the commitment of each and every single player, and also the time and effort from Dessie, Eamonn, Thady and Shane it all paid off. It was a massive day for the Club and one which we were deprived off for to long. Thank you to all the people who worked so hard in the run up to the County Final and especially since we had only a week to prepare for it, our committee that worked hard on getting club gear sorted, Dympna, Maureen, Eimear, Sean, Colette, CoCo, Jacinta, Barbara, Lily, Ann. Thanks to Jacinta and Lily for going around the various businesses with flags. I would like to single out Eugene Clancy who painted up the car on the Carrick road; he also put the bunting up around the town with help from CoCo & Sean & had a good hand to play in the goal posts at Larkfield! Thanks you to Seamus D & Eugene Sweeney who put the signs up on the approach roads into the town. As the week went on there was a lot of colour & good wishes on display, a nice car also painted at Shanvus, Sean Gilligan's barrels were very 'well done', the tractor at Sweeney's - a big thank you to everyone who made the effort with very little time to do so. It was great to see the bon fires on route home & again a big thank you to everyone for their help with this. I don't know when I seen such a big crowd in the Market square (probably '99) but to all our supporters a big thank you for staying around. A big thank you also to all our neighbouring Clubs for the good wishes in the lead up to the final and also to the McNulty's for preparing the Cattle lorry for the homecoming!
Its now back to the park again where its all systems go as we prepare for the first round of the Connacht Club Championship which takes place in Markievicz Park on Sunday 19th October at 3.15pm & I have no doubt our supporters will be back out in force again to cheer on our lads that will represent the County with pride. Best of luck to all concerned.
GORILLAS
Owing to the amount of calls for information: - I would be grateful if anyone out there had any more knowledge on the Gorillas that appeared on the main Carrick road as the team left for Pairc Sean last Sunday week, the same two gorillas were also spotted again on the round about when we were leaving Carrick. If you have any clues or ideas as to their identity please let me know! More on this to follow..
INTERMEDIATE COUNTY FINAL
Hard luck to our neighbours Drumkeerin who narrowly lost the Intermediate Final on Sunday last & fair play to the Drumkeerin team who gave us a great reception on our way thru' Drumkeerin. Well done to Aughnasheelin.

THANK YOU
As I have said before it would be impossible to thank everyone for the input into the County Final but I think our sponsors have a major part to be thanked for, namely our main sponsor Killassnet Co-op who sold the flags and club gear for us in the run up to the final, thanks also to Felim Gurn who provided a beautiful meal in Gurn's on our return home. Thanks also to John McManus who provided new tops for the team for County Final & to Damien McPartland who provided the tops last year as worn by all other Manor players in the Club including the Senior Team. It would be impossible to run a club without these and our many other sponsors many whom have kindly donated again for our Annual Draw which tickets are in circulation for at the moment & as always we would appreciate your support.
SENIOR LEAGUE
Well done to our Senior team who continued their winning ways against Annaduff in the park on Saturday evening last picking up another valuable two points in the league. A shaky start from our lads - nothing to do with the celebrations during the week I'm sure, but we were still able to hold Annaduff scoreless in the second half while we tagged on 1-02 with the Goal from Darren Sweeney and two frees from James Glancy. Final Score: Glencar/Manor 1-07 Annaduff 2-02. No league games this weekend because of Connacht Club Championship on Sunday.
AGM
A date has been agreed for this years Club AGM which will be held on Saturday 22nd November. Keep this date free in your diary's. If there is anyone new moved into the area and would like to become involved with the club in any way please contact myself on 086-3525565.
LADIES
Well done to our ladies who had a comprehensive victory over Ballinagleara on Sunday morning beating them on a scoreline of 0-06 to 5-08.
