Laois manager Seamus Plunkett admits that they face a task of 'Everest proportions' when they take on Galway in the Leinster SHC semi-final this weekend.

The O'Moore County go into the match as massive underdogs and they will face a huge task against a confident Galway side that trounced Dublin in the quarterfinal.

Plunkett admitted to the Leinster Express that his charges will have to be at their best to have any chance against what he described as one of the top counties in the country.

"Before the game you would have been saying Dublin were one of the top four of five teams in the country, and they would be in the mix for the All-Ireland, but Galway just destroyed them," said Plunkett.

"I was looking at the highlights and they were very impressive, and they had a very big score run up early on. It's a task of mammoth proportions facing us, but we're going to tear into this game, and we can't wait for Saturday. It's a big game ahead of us, but these are the games you want to play in."
