Battle of Arles the pick of SFC second round
August 19, 2010
The battle of neighbouring clubs Arles-Kilcruise and Arles-Killeen is the pick of the ties in the second round of the Laois senior football championship this weekend.
The game is a repeat of last year's semi-final, when Kilcruise came out on top in an encounter which saw two Killeen players, including county star Donie Brennan, sent off.
Both sides enjoyed relatively comfortable first round wins, with Kilcruise conceding just five scores to Mountmellick (0-10 to 1-4) and Killeen finishing four points clear of Emo (1-10 to 0-9).
Other second round ties see in-form St Joseph's take on Stradbally, a game which gets the ball rolling with a Friday night throw-in at O'Moore Park, Portlaoise.
