We've all seen by now; Stephanie Roche's wonder goal for Dublin's Peamount United against Wexford Youths last year which has been shortlisted for the FIFA Goal of the Year award.

But did you know that the goalkeeper she beat was none other than ladies football's Junior Player of the Year Mary-Rose Kelly.
Mary-Rose, who starred for Wexford in their All-Ireland junior final win over New York in September, says there was nothing she could have done to stop the incredible Roche strike.

"It was unstoppable," she told the Irish Daily Star.

"What can you say when you concede a goal like that? It was a sublime goal. It is the best goal ever put past me. I didn't know much about it.

"I'm glad that the goal has been recognised on the world stage - but I was livid at the time!

"You have to take your hat off to her because it was outstanding. It was pure, natural skill."

Stephanie has been nominated alongside Colombia's James Rodriguez and Holland's Robin van Persie. The winner will be announced on January 12.
