Fennelly ruled out for 10 weeks

Kilkenny's Michael Fennelly
Michael Fennelly will play no part in Kilkenny's Leinster SHC campaign after fracturing his right ankle and sustaining ligament damage during last Sunday's Allianz League final victory over Cork.
The Ballyhale Shamrocks clubman is facing a 10-week layoff, meaning he won't be available until the All-Ireland semi-finals should Kilkenny retain their Leinster title. If they don't win Leinster, he would miss the All-Ireland qualifiers and perhaps the All-Ireland quarter-final.
It was initially thought that he would be out of action for six weeks, but a scan yesterday revealed that he had also suffered ligament damage. Fennelly joins Aidan Fogarty, Michael Rice, Richie Power and Henry Shefflin on the Kilkenny injury list. The latter three, however, are expected to be fit for the Leinster SHC semi-final against either Dublin, Laois or Carlow on June 23.
