Power glad to be back

Richie Power is looking forward to making his return to the Kilkenny team today after serving a one-match suspension.

The Carrickshock attacker missed the Cats' emphatic win over Galway on April 1 after his sending off against Cork for a wild pull on Eoin Cadogan, which was the first dismissal of his career.

"It was the first time, for club and county. It was unfortunate," he said.

"I was hoping to go through my career without that hanging over my head. But it's one of these things that you have to take on the chin and use it as motivation further down the line."

Power admits it would have been a lot worse if he had been sent off in the championship.

"Having to sit out the Galway game and then looking at TJ Reid scoring 1-6 from centre-forward - I didn't digest that too well," he continued.

"Thankfully the game I ended up missing wasn't later in the year. You serve your suspension, you come back stronger and you just have to learn from your mistakes."
