Kilkenny will field an experimental side against NUIG in the Walsh Cup on Sunday.

U21 manager Richie Mulrooney will take charge of the Noresiders for the match, which has a 2pm throw-in at Freshford.

More-established members of the Black & Amber brigade will be sitting this one out while the Noresiders are also missing a number of players due to college commitments.

The likes of John Power (Carrickshock), Padraig Walsh (Tullaroan), Cillian Buckley (Dicksboro), Willie Phelan (Dunnamaggin) and Ger Aylward (Glenmore) should all be given an opportunity to impress. Tweet
