Cats confirm NFL participation

Kilkenny footballers will take part in the NFL
Kilkenny have dismissed speculation that they won't be part-taking in the National Football League.
The speculation has been sparked by the county's decision to withdraw from the O'Byrne Cup. They were due to play Louth on Sunday, but the Wee County have been handed a walkover as the Cats continue their search for a new manager to replace the long-serving Dick Mullins, who stepped down at the end of last season.
"The management team isn't in place yet so it was decided to concentrate on that," Kilkenny secretary Conor Denieffe said.
"It is definitely our intention to play in the league."
Since returning to the National League a few years ago, Kilkenny have been the whipping boys of Division 4, and finished bottom behind London last year.
