Congratulations to the minors on their brilliant performance in defeating favourites Balyna on Wednesday in the MFC quarterfinals. Second half substitute Killian Smith sealed victory for Sash with a late point to give Sarsfields a 1-8 to 0-10 victory. Congratulations also to the Junior B team who comprehensively defeated Suncroft by 4-20 to 0-5 in the Reserve B championship in Monasterevin on Saturday night last And to the Senior B who drew with Moorefield on Friday night in Moorefield in the Reserve A Championship 0-10 to 0-10. The postponed 2009 Jack Higgins Cup final between Sarsfields and Straffan will be played this Saturday 28th August at 5pm in Naas. On Thursday August 26th the U13Girls will play Foxrock/Cabinteely in a challenge game on pitch 3 at 7pm.

The Sarsfields underage Academy resumes after the summer on Saturday next August 28th break at 11.15am. New players welcome. The North Board Autumn League begins next weekend also with the U12's, the U10's A & B teams, along with U8 A / B teams, out on Saturday. The U9 hurlers are out on the Sunday, and this is followed by the U11s on the Tuesday with the U9s first game on Wednesday. Dates and times of games will be confirmed during the week.

Many thanks to the 37 teams who participated in the hugely successful and enjoyable Sarsfields Golf Tournament held on Friday last in Newbridge Golf Club. The winning team was Olly Lambe, 2nd: Newbridge Golf Club. 3rd: Cill Dara Betting. 4th: Shaves and Shapes hairdressing salon. First prize in the draw went to Jamie Stafford who won a Four Ball at the K Club. The extensive list will be in the weekly Sarsfields e-mail newsletter out today, Wednesday and will be posted there for the next few weeks so that members can have the opportunity to print off the list.
