McGeeney calls up Cribbin

Kildare's Paul Cribben
Kildare boss Kieran McGeeney has added minor star Paul Cribbin to his squad ahead of Sunday week's All-Ireland football semi-final against Down.
Cribbin, who is a younger brother of wing back Keith, will depart for Australia in October having agreed to join AFL outfit Collingwood on a two-year international rookie contract. The highly-rated teenager first came to the attention of Collingwood scouts when he starred for St. Mary's, Edenderry in their run to the All-Ireland Colleges final last year.
The Johnnstownbridge clubman also impressed for the Kildare minors in their run to last year's Leinster final and in their four-game saga against Dublin this summer.
Meanwhile, Kildare officials are confident that they will be able to complete their club football championship in time to allow their county champions to compete in the Leinster club championship. Just two rounds have been played to date and another two rounds remain to be played before the quarter-final stage.
"We wouldn't pre-empt anything, but obviously if we do reach an All-Ireland final, things become much tighter and we'd be in touch with Leinster Council at that point," county board chairman Padraig Ashe said about the possibility of seeking a deferral of the Kildare champions' first round match against their Laois counterparts on October 24.
