Kieran Donaghy has returned home early from New York for the Tralee Warriors' Super League Basketball clash with table-toppers Templeogue tonight.

Donaghy had been in the Big Apple promoting his awarding-winning book What Do You Think of That? along with his Kerry team-mates Colm Cooper and Johnny Buckley, but cut short his trip. Tralee coach Mark Bernsen has no concerns about possible jet lag, recalling how 'Star' suffered an injury while playing for Austin Stacks earlier this year, but still managed to line out for the basketball side later that same day.

"He got kicked in the shin. He rang in the afternoon and he said 'coach, I don't think I can play, I'll come and support the team," Bernsen told the Irish Independent.

"The game could have gone either way at the end. He then said 'I'll give it a go' and gave us a spurt that helped us in that game. That's just Kieran."
