Kerry boss wants out of Munster MHC
May 10, 2012
Kerry minor hurling manager Seanie O'Shea has questioned the wisdom of the county's participation in the Munster MHC after their recent heavy defeats to Tipperary and Cork.
The Kingdom suffered a 6-21 to 0-11 defeat to Tipperary last Wednesday and that was followed by an even heavier loss - 6-22 to 1-4 - to Cork at the weekend.
"It's not right to be throwing our young lads into the lion's den to be savaged a couple of times a year," O'Shea said in the Irish Independent.
"Our U16s don't do it, our U21s don't do it and at present our seniors don't play in the Munster championship, so why should our minors?
"If you are not playing the 'A' Grade at U16 level, then you cannot expect to wave a magic wand and play at the 'A' level at minor grade."
