Munster MFC: Kerry ease into semi-final

April 25, 2012
Kerry 3-9
Limerick 0-5

Kerry qualified for a Munster MFC semi-final against Clare after they easily brushed aside Limerick's challenge at Austin Stack Park, Tralee last night.

Mickey Ned O'Sullivan's charges only led by 1-4 to 0-4 at the break, but outscored the visitors 2-5 to 0-1 in a one-sided second half to book their place in the last four.

Limerick opened the scoring through Robbie Burke in the first minute and Kerry had to wait until the 11th minute for Jack Savage to open their account from a free. However, Gerald O'Sullivan's 23rd minute goal ensured them of the lead at half-time.

Limerick remained in contention until the 45th minute when Conor Keane was taken down for a penalty and Eanna Ó Conchuir gave the Limerick goalkeeper no chance with his spot kick. It was one-way traffic after that with substitute Gavin O'Shea adding a third goal late on.
