Kilmoyley retain Kerry SHC crown

Kilmoyley.......1-16 Lixnaw...............2-7 Reigning champions Kilmoyley captured their 18th Kerry SHC title with a comfortable victory over Lixnaw at Tralee on Sunday 29th September. Kilmoyley's dominance was reflected in the fact that they scored 13 points from play which is in contrast to Lixnaw's two. Despite this, Lixnaw were in contention for much of the game and it was only in the closing stages that Kilmoyley managed to put the result beyond doubt. Shane Brick was once again to fore in the scoring stakes, hitting 1-6 for the winners. Young Padraig O'Sullivan almost made his mark in what was his first county final appearance. The champions finished strongly with points from Shane Brick, substitute Christy Walsh and Michael Regan ensuring that they retained their crown - a feat they last achieved in 1970/71.
