Final will go down to "kick of a ball" - Fitzgerald
August 20, 2010
Kerins O'Rahillys manager Mark Fitzgerald expects Saturday evening's Kerry senior club championship final against Rathmore to go down to the wire.
The Tralee side have bounced back well from the departure of star man Tommy Walsh to Australia at the beginning of the year and go into the game as slight favourites against a Rathmore side including county men such as Tom O'Sullivan and Aidan O'Mahony.
But Fitzgerald, who inherited the manager's job from Ogie Moran this year, is expecting nothing less than a closely-fought battle at Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney.
He told the Kerryman, "We're under no illusions that it will be easy … When we've played Rathmore in the past there's never been more than a point between us in championship.
"There will just be a kick of a ball between us. They're going very well in the County League and had good results in the championship to date."
