O'Driscoll rues "massacre"
August 05, 2010
Kerry minor boss Pat O'Driscoll describes last Saturday's All-Ireland MFC quarter-final defeat to Tyrone as a "massacre".
The Kingdom were completely overwhelmed by the Ulster championship at Croke Park, where they were on the receiving end of a 2-12 to 0-9 thumping which brought the curtain down on a disappointing season.
O'Driscoll expressed his dismay afterwards, particularly as he felt the team's preparations for the game had been to a tee.
"It blew up in our faces really, it was a massacre, they were faster than us, stronger than us and had better footballers, what can you say?
"I thought everything was right in the build up to the match, our training, our journey up to Croke Park and the hotel itself, I had a good felling but it all fell apart after the first 15 minutes," stated O'Driscoll.
The Ardfert man also made clear his intentions to stay on in his current role next year by saying:
"I'm not going to take that beating easily, I'm a dangerous animal in that respect and we're going to look at every aspect of this year and see what needs to be done for next year and indeed beyond."
