O'Connor holds fire
August 02, 2010
Kerry manager Jack O'Connor believes that he and his team should be given time to reflect on their season before making any decision on their futures.
Straight away after the Kingdom were sensationally defeated by Down in the All-Ireland quarterfinal, there was questions raised about the future of some of the Kerry players and O'Connor himself.
However, the Kerry boss feels that it is too soon to be speaking of the future and that everyone needs to go away and have a good think about the year gone by and their futures.
"Today isn't the day to be talking about decisions. We're just very disappointed. You need to let these things thaw a bit - it's a bit raw at the moment," said O'Connor. "Let it thaw a bit and settle. Fellows can make up their minds then."
The futures of the likes of Tom O'Sullivan, Mike McCarthy and Aidan O'Mahony are already being discussed, while Tomas O'Se is another player the wrong side of 30 at this stage.
