All-Ireland MFC: Red Hands wallop Kerry
August 01, 2010
Tyrone confirmed their status as All-Ireland favourites when they dished out a heavy defeat to Kerry in yesterday's ESB All-Ireland MFC quarter-final at Croke Park.
Tyrone 2-12
Kerry 0-9
This was another hugely impressive display by Raymond Munroe's side who were also emphatic winners over reigning All-Ireland champions Armagh in their Ulster final joust a fortnight ago. This contest was effectively over by half-time when Tyrone had already built up an eight-point lead thanks to two goals in the space of three minutes early in the second quarter from Harry Og Conlon and Michael Donaghy.
They outscored their opponents by five points to one in the third quarter, and there was no way back for the beaten Munster finalists who could do nothing to prevent the skilful Ronan O'Neill top-scoring for Tyrone with five points.
