Corn Ui Mhuiri: Na Sceilge dethroned

February 22, 2010
Paul Galvin got one over his Kerry manager Jack O'Connor when he helped mastermind St. Brendan's 2-7 to 0-12 victory over Hogan Cup holders Colaiste Na Sceilge in yesterday's Corn Ui Mhuiri semi-final at Milltown.

Managed by O'Connor, Na Sceilge came from six points down at half-time to draw level with less than 10 minutes remaining. But it was Killarney school St. Brendan's - for whom Galvin is a selector - that clinched victory with late points from substitute Bryan O'Shea and Brendan Falvey, with Stephen O'Dwyer responding with a free for the holders.

The Sem looked set for the win when they led by 2-5 to 0-5 at the break with their goals coming from Chris O'Leary (penalty) and Padraig Lucey. But they were made to sweat it out in the second half before securing their place in the Munster decider against De La Salle, Macroom.
