Donaghy given all-clear

July 03, 2009

The one and only Kieran Donaghy
Kieran Donaghy will return to full training with the Kerry squad tonight for the first time since undergoing surgery on a foot injury nearly two months ago. The former Footballer of the Year was given the all-clear to return by a specialist in Dublin yesterday, two weeks earlier than anticipated, and is on course to play some part in Saturday week's All-Ireland second round qualifier. But the news has been tempered somewhat by confirmation that Tadhg Kennelly has broken a bone in his hand, which will keep him out of action for a number of weeks. Paul Galvin will also miss Saturday's week game through suspension, but Marc O Se, Anthony Maher and Seamus Scanlon are all expected to be available after recovering from injury.
