Galway defender Kieran McGrath was delighted to make his SFC debut at the age of 27!

The Corofin player has been a consistent performer for his club over the last decade winning county and club championships, but he struggled to make the breakthrough to the county senior side until this year.

And he admitted to the Connacht Tribune that it was a great feeling to finally run out on to the pitch in a starting team as Galway defeated Roscommon last Sunday.

"I think lining out for your county on your first day at senior level is a nerve wracking experience no matter what age you are," admitted McGrath.

"But it's a great feeling and it's a feeling that will live long in the memory for me, thank God."
