Fahy wary of Rebels
August 29, 2010
Galway boss Gerry Fahy is expecting a stern test from Cork in this afternoon's ESB All-Ireland minor football semi-final at Croke Park.
Unlike the Tribesmen, Cork have already tasted provincial success this year and ended Armagh's reign as All-Ireland champions in the last round.
"I saw their quarter-final against Armagh," Fahy said.
"For them to beat a side that kicked 19 points in Croke Park is a great achievement. They got a late score to beat Kerry in the Munster final too so they will keep going until the end."
Injuries have forced Fahy to ring the changes for today's test, but he is nevertheless optimistic about Galway's chances of setting up an All-Ireland final meeting with Tyrone.
"The way we finished against Longford was very encouraging and even how we reacted against Mayo when we conceded the goals was pleasing. But a good start is vital to us on Sunday. If we settle early we'll be in with a great chance," he added.
