Galway ring the changes

August 26, 2010
Galway manager Gerry Fahy has made wholesale changes to his team for Sunday's ESB All-Ireland MFC semi-final against Cork at Croke Park.

The Tribesmen scraped over Leinster champions Longford in the All-Ireland quarter-final and Fahy has reacted by making alterations in every line of the field. Colm MacDonnacha, Mark Loughnane and Jack Vaughan come into the defence for Philip Ezergalis, Fiach O Bearra and Tom Curran, while Thomas Flynn forms a new midfield partnership with Eoghan Commins.

Team captain Fiontan O Curraoin moves from midfield to centre forward with Peadar O Griofa now positioned at right corner forward. Niall Walsh switches from left corner forward to left half forward in a direct swap with Shane Maughan.

Galway (MF v Cork): J Keane; C MacDonnacha, J Shaughnessy, P Varley; M Loughnane, M Kelly, J Vaughan; E Commins, T Flynn; N Quinn, F O Curraoin (captain), N Walsh; P O Griofa, C Rabbitte, S Maughan.
