Galway's lethal forward Michael Meehan
Galway manager Joe Kernan has said he is keeping his fingers crossed for good news when they learn the full extent of Michael Meehan's knee injury today.
Meehan suffered the injury during the first-half of the Tribesmen's 2-16 to 1-9 defeat to Kerry last weekend and was due to have a MRI scan yesterday but that will now take place today, and the Galway boss has admitted that the worst outcome could see his ace attacker ruled out for the rest of the season
"The best case scenario sees him out for eight weeks, but worst case he'll be gone for eight months," said Kernan in today's Irish Examiner.
"Michael was very sore and stiff on Monday but he iced the injury from the start after he came off on Sunday. We have our fingers crossed for good news."
