Ladies set for Kerry trip
February 05, 2010
Galway will kick-off their Bord Gais Energy National Football League Division One campaign this Sunday when the travel to Castleisland to take on Kerry.
The game is a tricky opening test for Gay O'Brien's team, who captured the Connacht championship title last year, and the priority this season for the Tribeswomen will be to retain their Division One status after getting dragged into a relegation dogfight in 2009.
The return of 2004 All-Ireland winner Aine Gilmore will be a welcome boost for O'Brien, who knows Sunday's trip is going to be a tough game.
"Kerry away is always a difficult one. We then have Dublin away the following week, and Cork after that. So, it's a hard enough start to the league for us," said the Galway ladies boss.
The two sides clash this Sunday in the opening round of the Bord Gais Energy NFL Division One at Castleisland, where throw-in is scheduled for 1.00pm.
