The club held its annual social on Saturday night, 23rd of January in the Ard Ri House Hotel. A great night saw our Senior A team receive their medals for a successful 2009 league campaign from guest of honour Joe Kernan. Thanks to our guests, Joe and Patricia Kernan and Milo and Margaret Costello for attending. It was great to see a man who has achieved so much in the Gaa speak so highly of the importance of the club and we appreciate Joe taking time out from a busy weekend with the Galway seniors to attend the social. A sincere thank you to the large number of our supporters who turned out on the night to recognize the wonderful achievement of our senior panel in 2009. Thanks to Ollie Mullins for providing the some very apt and funny musical intros as the players were called to receive their medals. It certainly added to the occasion. A special thanks to the auctioneer, Cathal Nestor, who provided a great performance during the auction and to all who bidded on the auction items. We thank also the successful bidders Tom O'Connor and Austin Finnegan for their generosity to the club. Thanks also to the staff and management of the Ard Ri House Hotel for their wonderful service. It was much appreciated. Congratulations to Donal O'Neill on receiving the player of the year award and to Francis Quinn on receiving the Connolly Cup as Club person of the year. Both were worthy winners. Well done to Michael Martin and Donal O'Neill on another successful outing for the Galway seniors when they defeated Leitrim in the FBD league on Sunday. The club wishes David Finnegan a speedy recovery from injury. The lotto numbers drawn at the weekend were 8, 16, 20, 27. There were no jackpot winners or match 3 winners.
