Bergin demands improvement

Galway's Joe Bergin
Joe Bergin is in no doubt that Galway will need to show a big improvement on last Sunday's display against Sligo if they are to topple Mayo in next month's Connacht SFC final.
Galway only made sure of victory in Markievicz Park with a late 1-1, and Bergin is adamant that a repeat performance won't be good enough against John O'Mahony's men.
"No disrespect to Sligo, but a performance like that on Connacht final day would see us come out on the wrong end of the result," the Mountbellew man said.
"There is a narrow gap between winning and losing, and you could definitely see that on Sunday because they should have got something from the game.
"We will definitely be underdogs because Mayo seem to be coming very strong at the moment. After last year, they have a point to prove to try and beat us in a Connacht final, so we are underdogs and we will have to put in work to get ourselves right to be in contention.
"We have to improve if we want to try and beat them in Pearse Stadium. We have plenty of things to work on and if we don't improve, we won't win the Connacht final.
"We have to put the shoulder to the wheel now for the next three weeks to try to up our performance."
