Legends enlist for Galway Guinness night
June 25, 2009
Galway play host to the fifth Guinness Inside Hurling event next Tuesday, 30th June, at the Raheen Woods hotel in Athenry.
Athenry's own Joe Rabbitte will be joined by RTE pundit and former manager Cyril Farrell and Conor Hayes on the panel, as they look back at the Leinster final encounter with Kilkenny and forward to Galway's opposition in the upcoming qualifiers. Manager John McIntyre and two of the current panel will also join MC Paul Collins on the stage for a Q&A session.
Munster final hopefuls Tipperary take centre stage two days later, on Thursday 2nd July in the birthplace of the GAA, Hayes hotel in Thurles. Bobby Ryan, who captained Tipperary to success in 1989, is joined by 1991 winning captain Declan Carr and Pat Fox on the panel. Liam Sheedy and two of the current panel hoping to take the Munster title for the second consecutive year on July 12th, will also take to the stage.
Both nights follow on a hugely entertaining occasion in Cork, with Rebel heroes Diarmuid O'Sullivan, Joe Deane, Tomas Mulcahy and Donal O'Grady keeping the entertainment levels high for the night.
"It was a brilliant night, it was great to talk back over old times, and share the stories" said "The Rock" "But as ever with Cork, it's not about the past, it's about the future, and sitting there with Donal Og and John (Gardiner) you are reminded of the great determination of Cork players to bring more success back to the county"
Entrance to all the events is free, but strictly limited to 250 supporters, who must pre-register in advance by emailing their details to
