McGann takes hurling treasurer post
December 19, 2008
John McGann has been elected as the Galway hurling board's new treasurer following last Wednesday night's annual convention.
Adrahan clubman overcame long-time opponent Gerry Naughton, who held the position since 2005, by just three votes to gain election and thanked those who backed him afterwards, while admitting he was looking forward to the challenge.
"I will leave no stone unturned to help the finances of Galway hurling. I am looking forward to the challenge and I hope I can rely on your support. Going forward, I intend to do my best for Galway hurling," said McGann.
