NI Leukaemia Research Fund Gate Collection
February 21, 2012
On average 200 people in Northern Ireland are diagnosed every year with Leukaemia (info provided by Cancer Registry of Northern Ireland).
"Northern Ireland Leukaemia Research Fund (NILRF) is the only charity in Northern Ireland dedicated to researching the cause and cure of Leukaemia and allied blood disorders. Blood cancers such as Leukaemia can affect people of any age and at any time. However Leukaemia affects more adults than children and is harder to treat. The Haematology Research Group which we support is internationally recognised for its research into Adult Myeloid Leukaemia. With continued support we want to ensure that people of all ages survive Leukaemia. We invest your money wisely, with 91p in every £1 going towards research and we want to ensure that every penny makes a difference and are totally committed in the long term, both to research and results" We also have loads of information on our website www.leukaemia-ni.org
Following the recent collection uplifted at the Allianz Football League match vs Clare a total of £1,400.00 was presented to the NILRF. I would like to sincerely thank everyone who allowed this collection to proceed, all collectors, Fermanagh County Board and Enniskillen Gaels for the use of their facilities and to all those who generously donated.
