Despite the absence of Cathal carry at full back, J.P.McGarry at mid-field, Brendan McGarry at centre half forward and Declan McGarry at the full forward berth, plus the absence of Wexford born veteran Karl Kehoe, Lisbellaw young guns ended they St Patrick's wining famine. Travelling to play against Castleblaney last Saturday 18th February, 2012, with a very depleted but they very determined young guns, who were deliberately unfazed, when up against a more mature and experienced Farney side. This games half time scores of 1 goal 3 points for they game's host Castleblaney to 2 goals 5 points for the largely Lisbellaw younger team. Whilst this matches second half was a more competitive affair Lisbellaw kept up their scoring pressure and with the finals scores at full time 4 goals 5 points for the Castleblaney to 4 goals 10 points for the young goals of Lisbellaw, who ended their winning famine away in county Monaghan.
