FL4: Fermanagh make winning start

February 13, 2012
Fermanagh 0-11
Clare 0-8

Fermanagh belatedly opened their Allianz Football League campaign with a comeback win over Clare at Brewster Park.

Having had their first round fixture against London postponed last weekend, Peter Canavan's charges were off the pace for much of the opening half and had to wait until the 13th minute for their first score from half back Barry Mulrone. At the break, the visitors led 0-5 to 0-2 thanks to points from Rory Donnelly, David Tubridy and David Russell.

Two more Tubridy frees stretched Clare's lead to 0-7 to 0-3 on the resumption, but Fermanagh eventually awoke from their slumber and prevailed thanks in no small part to six pointed frees from Seamus Quigley.
